Ryan D. Howard

Artist/Pianist/Organist/Vocalist/Bandleader

Ryan D. Howard is a gifted Afro American keyboardist, organist, pianist, and vocalist. His style is distinct and combines a unique blend of genres/styles of music. His keyboard skills adapts perfectly to the legendary music of artists Herbie Hancock, Billy Preston, and the band  Earth, Wind, and Fire, whose  music spans multiple genres, including jazz, R&B, soul, funk, disco, pop, Latin,  Afro-pop, and gospel.

At 7 years old, Ryan dived headfirst into music at Meservey Elementary School under the direction of Tony Fishback. He then attended the Middle School of the Arts and the Paseo Academy of the Visual and Performing Arts High School, under the direction of Clarence W. Smith.

After participating in several jazz ensembles, combos, concert bands, and pep bands, in 2004, he began performing with the legendary group Cameo in England.

On his return to the US, Ryan landed major performances with accomplished artists,  including Phil Perry and Jesse Powell, and obtained an associate's degree in liberal arts at Penn Valley Community College.

Ryan currently resides in Austin,Texas. He is on the East Side Kings Festival Board, Austin NAACP member, Local 627 & 433 Musicians Unions in Kansas City, MO & Austin, TX. He plays piano and is the musical director for the Pamela Hart Ensemble, the Ryan D Howard Organic @ The Elephant Room, and also performs at other local and regional venues and with other artists. Ryan is also an integral part of the Austin and Kansas City Jazz scenes.

His performances showcase his skills as pianists, organists, keyboardists, and vocalists. Ryan's energetic stage performances and authentic sound of jazz, gospel, blues, rock, country, R&B, funk, neo-soul, soul, and smooth jazz places him amongst the best artists to follow.
